About The Egham Band

WHO ARE WE?

 

The Egham Band is an organisation made up of several bands consisting of The Egham Band, Egham Youth Band, Egham Training Band, we also run after-school brass bands in three local schools, which feed through into training band.  The Egham Band also runs a teaching programme where we teach approximately 150 year 4 children, either the pcCornet, pBone or jHorn.

The Egham Band is based in their own purpose-built band hall, complete with a social club.  We are conveniently located right next to Egham Station and close to the M25, M3 & M4.

The bands take part in many events throughout the year and both The Egham Band and Egham Youth Band are available to play at events. 

Engagements include community events, themed indoor and outdoor concerts, formal parades, including Remembrance Sunday and St George's Day to less formal parades of the famous Lewes Bonfire Parade and Windsor Christmas parades.  The band often participate in prestigious local events, for example, playing for The Queen's Jubilee on the Long Walk in 2022, The Queen at The Patrons Lunch in 2016 and The PGA Golf tournaments.

The band has a strong relationship with Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, twinned with Runnymede.  The band last visited and performed in September 2022 and will return in 2024 or 2025.

The band also regularly competes in the annual regional contest in Stevenage and further afield.
